About Me

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). Before joining in UTC, I served as an Assistant Professor and later as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from College of William and Mary under the supervision of Prof. Haining Wang.

I direct the Networked and Complex Systems Security Research (NEXUS) Lab at UTC. I co-direct the UTC InfoSec Center, which is a NSA/DHS Designated National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD).

My research interests lie in Cybersecurity, Cloud/Edge Computing, Mobile Computing, SDN & NFV, Social Network Analysis, Big Data Analytics, and Computer Education. My research has been funded internally and externally (e.g., National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, and Amazon AWS). At UA Little Rock, I served as the Director of NSA/DHS Designated CAE-CD and the Director of Computational Research Center. I was the founder and adviser of UA Little Rock Cyber Security Club. I also served as the Coordinator of Master of Science in Computer Science program and the Computer Science Track Coordinator of Ph.D. in Computer and Information Sciences program.
